Capped or reversible
Select Capped wraps the core in a bonded polymer shell that holds colour and resists stains. Signature Woodgrain is reversible — woodgrain one face, grooves the other.
Two boards, one length, five colours — and a count that includes the edge board and the spare, which are the two things every decking order forgets.
Every board is 2.9m. Anything longer than that takes a joint and a doubled joist under it — so the direction the boards run is the only lever you have, and it is worth deciding before you count.

No oiling, no staining, no spring ritual. Composite keeps its surface with an occasional wash and nothing else.
Hollow cores with circular voids keep each board at 8.1kg — manageable to lift, cut and fix without a second pair of hands.
A cut hollow board shows its voids. The square-edged capped edge board hides every exposed end and the frame fascia behind it.
Put the deck in as rectangles and we’ll count the boards, the edge boards and the spare — the same sum as our decking guide, done for you.
The edge boards come in the same five colours and follow whatever you pick here. Order a free sample if you want to see it in your garden light first.
Not a rectangle? Split it into rectangles and add them up. Don’t deduct small openings — a post penetration or a tree cut-out doesn’t save you a board, because the board still has to be cut around it.
Measure the sides of the deck people will actually see — a side against the house or a wall doesn’t need edging. This is the single most forgotten item on a decking order; counting it now beats a second delivery next week.

And on a deck that drains one way, along the fall rather than against it. Decide the direction before you count anything — it changes the answer.
It usually gets remembered a week after the deck arrives, by which point the deck is built. Order it with the boards, in the same colour, from the same batch.
Boards settle slightly in their first months of UV. A spare kept in the garage still matches the deck if it is ever needed; one bought next summer will not.
Joists, frame and fixings are specified with your quote rather than guessed at here — tell us what the deck is carrying and which way the boards run.
A plan with two measurements on it is enough. Free, no obligation, and usually back the same day.
